Indo-Swiss Ayurveda Foundation (ISA)

VISION AND MISSION

The ISA Foundation constituted according to the Swiss legislation, has its seat in Geneva and is a non-profit organisation which spreads its action on the international level. It is the fruit of several years of collaboration between Swiss and Indian individuals and bodies, determined to promote Ayurveda as an official medical system in the West. The vision of the founders of ISA is to get Ayurveda and its traditional principles recognised as a fully-fledged medical system and to make it available to humanity by proposing a model that is largely usable outside India. This model brings together clinical practice as well as research and teaching (achievements). The founding relationship of ISA with Switzerland is that this country has the unique advantage in the West of a legal context favourable to such a development. The Foundation’s aim is to establish the inter-cultural and inter-disciplinary bridge from source to target “cradle”, with the idea of promoting and backing worthwhile projects from both sides, thereby preserving a knowledge system that constitutes one of India’s most precious bequests to humanity.
